Step Into My Mind…

Time Whispers December 31, 2010

With the New Year RIGHT around the corner, I figured this would be an appropriate time to share a little poem I wrote. Also, this blog is dedicated in memory of my dear friend and brother in Christ, Haig Diradourian, who passed away on December 23, 2010. You are deeply loved and missed. I write in hopes that you will all learn from Haig’s life and death and appreciate your own lives and the lives of others around you… (more…)

Christians are like Vampires May 18, 2010

Christians and Vampires? Can there be any more of an unrelated topic to one another? You may be asking yourselves this question. BUT, there is somethnig that I have discovered.

I have already watched Twilight and New Moon, and I have read Twilight, some of New Moon, and some of Midnight Sun (I’m working on getting the whole series done soon). After all of this, something became very clear to me, particularly when I was reading Midnight Sun, which is essentially the book of Twilight from Edward Cullen’s perspective…

It is so utterly fascinating when one reads from Edward’s perspective. It gives new insight and gives a fuller picture of how much he was truly struggling to not attack Bella and suck her delicious and warm blood right out of her.

As I dove deeper into this concept of struggle that Edward experienced, I realized that this is a lot like what Christians experience. He eplained, in Midnight Sun, that when he first took a whiff of Bella’s scent, it hit him suddenly and unexpectedly. He had not taken a human life, due to his craving of their blood, for about 80 years, and now he was turning into that vicious monster that he despised. (more…)

“I have had all I can stand” February 18, 2010

This is a very recent story of an angry man named Joseph Stack (age 53). This story is too interesting and upsetting for me and I just have to post about it. You can get the full story about him here at this link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_plane_crash_texas

I write about him because he was a man like a lot of us, filled with a lot of anger and a feeling of hopelessness. In fact, he was so tired of life that he flew his single-engine Piper Cherokee into an International Revenue Service (IRS) building. It was a building that housed an IRS office and about 200 IRS employees.

Let’s Talk About Death Baby! November 30, 2009

If you have not noticed yet, I am fascinated by the subject of death (NOTE: I am not trying to minimize the pain and hurt someone feels when they have a loss, not at all. My heart and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones. It is so tough, that’s why I want to share this with you). It is such a deep and profound topic and we try to ignore or avoid it, yet it is inevitable. Why is it so difficult to talk about death when we know it is bound to happen to each and every one of us? Have you ever had a serious conversation with someone else about death….about your own death?

Some people may find me strange after this post, but that’s alright with me. So, there’s this other song that reaches the deepest parts of my soul and just does something to me that I cannot explain.

This is the disturbing part, it may seem like just another song…but for me, it is almost like a worship song! I praise God and connect to Him in a really awesome and amazing way when I hear this song and sing along. (more…)

Oh Death, Where is your Sting? July 26, 2009

I’m sorry to inform you, but it’s alive and well!

Call_of_DeathPC

When has death been something that does not hurt?
We grieve, we mourn, we are sorrowful, we are confused, we weep and wail, we wonder why, and it never really leaves us deep down inside. Somewhere inside, underneath all of life’s distractions, we know we are destined to be men and women of sorrow, because death does sting us and death does have victory over us. Whether Christian or Non-Believer, everybody dies…and everybody hurts when someone close to us dies as well. (more…)

Do We Really Stop Learning? July 1, 2009

I’ve been working on a post about Death for a long time now, and have not had a chance to fully complete it all to post it up. So, I guess while I’m working on that, I wanted to share this random thought with you all.

Just the other week, my Professor for my Oceanography class made a statement. He said that, “When we stop learning, it means we’re dead”. And I nodded my head with no hesitation…I totally agreed with him and didn’t think much of it at all.
